The MRI Technologist performs and supervises MRI procedures to ensure diagnostic accuracy for physicians. They are also responsible for maintaining equipment quality control, managing supplies, and assisting with the development of departmental policies.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology and registered by the ARRT, with a Mississippi State Department of Health license. A minimum of two years of experience in Radiology is required, and BCLS certification must be maintained.

Job Description: Summary
Position Overview: The MRI Technologist performs and supervises all activities of Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures and assures accuracy in securing MRIs ordered by physicians for diagnostic purposes. He/She ensures that the Radiology department meets accreditation/organization standards and achieves the SRHS objectives. The MRI Technologist assists with the development and revision of policies, procedures, and protocols as requested. The MRI Technologist operates equipment requiring detailed concentration for extended periods of time, stocks an adequate inventory of supplies at all times, and maintains quality control of procedures and quality assurance of equipment. Graduate from an accredited, state approved, School of Radiologic Technology required.
Must be currently registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. MRI registry preferred. Must maintain a minimum of 24 ECE points in each two (2) year period as required by the ARRT in Radiology. Licensed by the Mississippi State Department of Health required.
Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
