Performs clerical functions and provides direct patient care under the supervision of physicians, therapists, or nursing staff. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations.
Requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a current BLS/CPR certification. Preferred qualifications include certification as an MA, CNA, EMT, or HHA and experience in a medical environment.
Required Education and Experience High school graduate or equivalent (if position is at Horizons) Required License/Certifications/Registrations Current BLS/CPR card from approved provider within 30 days of hire or by the end of orientation, whichever comes first. Kansas Driver's License (if position requires driving) Auto insurance equal to or greater than the Kansas Insurance requirements (if position requires driving)
Preferred Education and Experience Previous exposure to a medical environment. Preferred License/Certifications/Registrations Certification as a MA, CNA, EMT, or HHA in the state of Kansas Phlebotomy Technician PBT (ASCP) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Moderate computer skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively. Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations. Possess compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care. Physical Requirements: With or without accommodation. Heavy Work: Occasionally exerting up to 100 lbs - constantly exerting up to 20 lbs. 51-75% of the day may be standing or walking.
