The Surgical Technologist II sets up the sterile field and gathers supplies for surgical cases, passing instruments to surgeons during surgery. They also perform count procedures and serve as a resource and preceptor to less experienced Surgical Technologists.
Candidates must be registered with the Virginia State Board of Medicine and hold a CST certification if hired after 12/31/21, or a TS-C or CORST certification if hired prior. A minimum of 6 months experience as a Surgical Technologist or related position is required, with 2 years preferred.
