Occupational Therapist-Hand Specialty

Coastal Orthopedics is a premier orthopedic practice in the Bradenton/Sarasota region, providing state-of-the-art, patient-centered care. We are actively looking to mentor a motivated Occupational Therapist who has a strong drive to become a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT).

The Role

You will work side-by-side with our fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons and senior CHT to evaluate and treat a diverse caseload of upper extremity conditions, trauma, and post-surgical cases.

Your Career Path & Mentorship (The CHT Track)

• We are heavily invested in your professional growth. While you build your foundational skills, our structured CHT mentorship program provides:
• Direct Supervision: One-on-one weekly case reviews and splinting workshops with our senior CHTs.
• Continuing Education: An annual CEU stipend toward upper-extremity courses, conferences, and HTCC exam prep.
• Hour Tracking: Consistent, high-quality hours logging toward the 4,000 required hours of hand therapy experience.

Requirements

• Master’s or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Active, unencumbered Florida OT license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Level II Fieldwork in an outpatient orthopedic or hand therapy setting strongly preferred.
• A clear, demonstrated passion for upper extremity rehabilitation and a commitment to obtaining your CHT designation.
