Tissue Recovery Technician (Per Diem): Syracuse, NY

Location
- ConnectLife
- Syracuse: 517 East Washington St., Syracuse, NY 13202. Must have a valid NYS driver’s license, arrive within 1 hour of a case call, and travel in company vehicle to area hospitals.
Schedule
- Full
- Per diem: minimum 12 on-call 12-hour shifts/month, or
- Modified
- Per diem: at least 3 on-call shifts/week plus stipend and health insurance option.
- Training requires at least 3 shifts/week.
- Availability must include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Pay
- Pay is case-based, offering flexible scheduling and strong earning potential tied to availability and participation.
- Recent average earnings of active Technicians at this location ranged from $86.12-$125.69/hour, averaging $105.90/hour. This is not a guaranteed hourly rate but a snapshot of historical data over the previous 6 months; compensation varies by case volume and Tech availability.
- Office and training time pay is $16.00/hour; recoveries are paid per procedure, or piece rate.
- Additional travel and case-related reimbursements may apply.
- Modified per diem includes:
- Weekly stipend plus 75% of case pay
- Option for health insurance (“Full per diem” is not benefit- eligible)
Minimum Education and Experience include
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred
- Healthcare or medical-related experience preferred
- Tissue banking experience preferred

- EMT/Paramedic services
- Anatomy & physiology
- Mortuary science
- Operating room or hospital environments
- Medical assisting or clinical support
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Anatomy and physiology knowledge strongly preferred
- Must be adaptable, detail-oriented, organized, and able to think critically and multitask accurately.
- Team-based work experience preferred
- Must be reliable, professional, and self-motivated
- Valid NYS driver’s license, reliable transportation, travel, and on-call availability required
Required Physical Demands*
- Continuous standing, at least 65% of the time.
- Frequent sitting, walking, bending, squatting, and kneeling.
- Continuous lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling up to 10lbs. Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent reaching forward, lateral, and overhead.
- Continuously receiving detailed information through written, electronic, and oral communication.
- Frequent clarity of vision at near and/or far distances.

As part of the tissue recovery team, you will
- Perform sterile surgical recovery of donated human tissue
- Assist with donor prep, blood draws, setup, and cleanup
- Preserve, package, and transport tissue to regulatory standards
- Support respectful donor reconstruction
- Maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational standards
- Attend required training and team meetings
- Work effectively in fast-paced clinical and surgical settings
