Physician -Hospitalist

**Position Overview: Hospitalist Physician (MD/DO)**

We are actively recruiting a full-time Hospitalist Physician to integrate into our dedicated, mission-oriented healthcare team, committed to providing superior, patient-centered care to rural communities across Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts.

**Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive medical care for hospitalized patients, encompassing admissions, daily rounds, and discharge processes.
• Assess, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of acute and chronic medical conditions.
• Implement evidence-based treatment protocols that prioritize patient-centered care.
• Engage in close collaboration with specialists, primary care physicians, nursing staff, respiratory therapists, CRNAs, and emergency medicine physicians to ensure cohesive care delivery.
• Develop and coordinate patient care plans to facilitate seamless transitions within the care continuum.
• Order, interpret, and respond to laboratory tests, imaging, and diagnostic studies effectively.
• Maintain thorough and timely documentation of all patient interactions, care strategies, and outcomes within the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Respond adeptly to medical emergencies, including code blue and rapid response scenarios.
• Manage ventilator settings and care requirements.
• Actively participate in clinical rounds and interdisciplinary meetings for comprehensive patient evaluation and care planning.
• Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatment pathways, and follow-up management.
• Involve in hospital committees, quality improvement initiatives, and performance assessments to enhance care standards.
• Ensure adherence to hospital protocols, regulatory compliance, and medical ethical standards.
• Procedures are not a requirement for this position; specialty backup is available for interventions as needed, including surgical support for central line placements.

**Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
