Provide direct patient care including preparing patients for exams, administering medications, and assisting providers with medical procedures. Actively collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate care for patients, families, and caregivers.
Requires a high school diploma, graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program, and current Medical Assistant and BLS certifications. One year of medical office experience is preferred.
Provide care to patients as directed by the provider, including preparing patients for examination, administering medications, assisting provider with procedures and performing various tests. The Medical Assistant will actively participate as a member of the healthcare team to engage patients, families, and caregivers in the coordination of patient care.
1. High School diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
1. One year of medical office and patient care experience preferred.
1. Medical Assistant certification or Registered Medical Assistant Certification required upon hire/transfer. 2. BLS certification required.
Fast paced, stressful, high traffic medical office. May be exposed to communicable diseases, toxic substances, medicinal preparations, bodily fluids and other conditions common to a clinic environment. May require working irregular hours. May require travel to other offices.
Requires full range body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination. May require standing and walking for extended periods of time. Occasional lifting and carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
