Quantum Pain and Orthopedics is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our team! The Nurse Practitioner is responsible for providing medical services to patients, inclusive of all functions necessary to provide medical care under the direction of the physician. Functioning as a clinical provider, maintaining and promoting the health of the patient requiring acute care according to the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Texas. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Conducts comprehensive health assessments (initial, ongoing, discharge), identifies normal/abnormal health characteristics, develops plan of care, initiates appropriate interventions, and evaluates care outcomes on defined patient populations(s)
Performs delegated functions under physician supervision, such as differential diagnosis, use of prescriptive authority, and treatment according to practice guidelines, protocols, and/or standing orders
Accepts accountability for outcomes in health care
Utilizes critical thinking skills and clinical judgement to work autonomously as defined by the Nurse Practice Act
Collaborates with the Physician and healthcare team members to manage/coordinate patient care
Records accurate consultation data in patients’ records
Charts in the patient’s medical record is routinely to be completed on the same day as the patient’s visit
Instigates necessary invasive and non-invasive diagnostic tests or investigations and interpret findings/reports
Provides safe, evidence-based, cost-effective, individualized patient care
Contributes to the practice achieving its quality targets to sustain the high standards of patient care and service delivery
Follows all internal policies and procedures; be accountable for completion of all operational tasks according to departmental guidelines to ensure appropriate clinical processing/documentation
Ensures patients are seen promptly and efficiently, maintaining a reasonably on-time schedule for appointments unless exceptional circumstances arise
Responds and comply to requests for information including sending faxes and e-mails
Reports statistics as required
Protects patient and family privacy rights and maintains confidentiality of patient records in accordance to policy and procedure and HIPAA requirements
Follow all safety rules, report all accidents promptly and corrects minor safety hazards.
Communicates with peers and management regarding any hazards identified in the workplace
Travels as necessary to other facilities
Performs other job-related duties and special projects as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Excel, Word & E-Clinical
Excellent written and verbal communication, professionally polished patient interaction skills and teaching ability
Possesses appropriate communication skills to practice collaborative nursing
Exhibit a caring, compassionate, high level of energy, congenial, sensitive attitude toward patients
Strong attention to detail, being careful about detail and thorough in completing work tasks
Ability to adequately diagnose, plan and implement nursing interventions and evaluate patient condition
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, patients, and public
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to maintain effective organized systems, coordinate multiple tasks and adjust to any justifiable pace to ensure timely patient flow
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, their families, and staff members
Ability to respond quickly, physically and mentally when priorities and /or the patient’s condition changes

Master’s degree in nursing
Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
Nurse Specialization Diploma
Recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or
License must be acquired within 30 days of the hire date
Prescriptive authority privileges through the State of Texas
