Job description

Rivers Health is seeking a per-diem Radiology Extern.

Under the direction of the Medical Imaging Supervisor, is responsible for the transporting of patients by bed, stretcher, or wheelchair to/from the Radiology Department, provide assistance to Medical Imaging Professionals, and perform clerical duties as needed.
The Radiology Extern/Tech Assistant is allowed to provide assistance, at the direction of the Licensed Medical Imaging Technologist.
Independently assist with transport of patients to and from the Radiology Department.
Assist with moving patients onto and off imaging equipment with direct supervision.
Drive portable X-Ray units to and from the Radiology Department with direct supervision.
Assist with documentation in the EMR with direct supervision.
Independently clean and prepare imaging suites for the next patient.
Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation after BLS certification.
Independently guide/walk patients to and from imaging suites.
Effectively communicates in a positive way with patients, employees both inside and outside of the department.
Assist Technologists in preparing and maintaining appropriate records and charges for patients.

Education and formal training: High School diploma or equivalent
