Acts as the first assistant to physicians during the intra-operative phase of surgery. Responsibilities include draping, suturing, clamping, and maintaining exposure of the surgical field for patients of all ages.
Requires a high school diploma and graduation from an accredited PA program, nursing school, medical school, or surgical technology program. Must be certified by the AST or hold a valid RN, PA, or MD license, with two years of OR experience preferred.
