Requires a High School Diploma and 1-3 years of experience, or status as an active BSN student with one completed clinical rotation. AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification is mandatory.
The Patient Care Assistant (PCA) II supports patient care by ensuring comfort and safety, following the model of care at TCH, which emphasizes collaboration between patients, families, and healthcare teams. Care is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate, and all duties are delegated by a Registered Nurse according to Ohio Board of Nursing guidelines. PCA II may also use critical thinking to escalate concerns as needed.
