Position Overview As a Direct Care Specialist, you will assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, medication administration, transportation, community outings, and goal achievement based on individualized support plans. Assist individuals with activities of daily living including grooming, bathing, meal preparation, housekeeping, grocery shopping, cooking, and money management
Support individuals in achieving goals outlined in their Support Plan and Implementation Plan
Promote independence, dignity, and community inclusion
Plan and participate in recreational and community activities Health & Safety Responsibilities
Supervise and support the health and safety of individuals in the home
Administer medications and complete required medication documentation
Complete incident reports and communicate concerns to supervisors
Follow all agency safety, health, and residential procedures Documentation & Communication

One year of experience working in a medical, psychiatric, nursing home, childcare, or developmental disability setting (Relevant college, vocational, or technical training may substitute for experience) Preferred Qualifications
CPR and First Aid Certification preferred
Strong math, writing, and organizational skills
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and assist individuals throughout the shift
Ability to work active shifts for extended periods
