The Psychiatrist is responsible for initiating and coordinating care for child and adolescent patients in inpatient or day hospital settings. Key duties include conducting psychiatric evaluations, managing medications, and developing evidence-based treatment plans within a multidisciplinary team.
Candidates must hold an active Maryland medical license, be Board Certified or Eligible in Psychiatry with a fellowship in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry, and possess a valid DEA certificate. Completion of a psychiatry residency is required, with a preference for two or more years of acute psychiatric experience.
Sheppard Pratt is seeking a Psychiatrist for our Child and Adolescent Inpatient Services on our Towson Campus. The Towson location is a hub for many of our core psychiatry services, including inpatient, day hospital, urgent care, neuromodulation, research, and other state-of-the-art mental healthcare services. There are five child and adolescent inpatient units on this campus, all of which provide exceptional care for this patient population.
The Psychiatrist is a key member of the multidisciplinary treatment team, responsible for initiating and coordinating care for assigned patients within the inpatient or day hospital setting. This role includes conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, admission assessments, and physical examinations; determining the need for hospitalization or continued treatment; and developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans.
The Psychiatrist provides medication management, conducts individual and group therapies, and collaborates with other members of the treatment team to ensure high-quality, patient-centered care. They maintain accurate documentation, communicate effectively with families and referring providers, and adjust treatment as needed in response to clinical progress.
The pay range for this position is $240,000 minimum to $305,000 maximum. Pay for this position is determined on a number of factors, including but not limited to, board certifications and years and level of related experience.
