Education Qualifications: Behavioral Health Advanced Practice Provider (APP) Park Rapids, MN Our Park Rapids team is seeking a mental health practitioner to join us in serving our patient populations throughout the community. This APP will be responsible for providing behavioral health services to individual patients and families across the continuum of care. The Behavioral Health Division at Essentia Health includes physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and dedicated support staff. Seeking a 1.0 FTE (full-time status); Mon-Fri from 8am-5pm Practice will consist of primarily outpatient practice with occasional inpatient/ED consults New PMHNP graduates will be considered Pediatric experience and competence preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Interpersonal Requirements: Advanced practice providers in Behavioral Health are limited to the provision of mental health services, specifically for individuals experiencing symptoms of a mental health diagnosis and who are in need of mental health services. Conducting health screenings and psychiatric evaluations. Prescribing, monitoring, managing, and evaluating psychopharmacological medications. Providing integrated mental health services in general health settings. Collaborating with psychiatrists, seeking consultation when necessary, and referring patients to other providers when necessary. Collaborating within the interdisciplinary team to promote behavioral health services on the continuum of care. In addition, the candidate should possess: Highly developed analytical critical thinking and organizational skills, as well as strong oral and written communication skills. Proven ability to build effective working relationships and to use tact, discretion, and diplomacy when working with others. Ability to stay calm and focused in an environment of multiple demands and use of good judgment in emergency situations. Keyboard skills and basic computer skills. A Behavioral Health APP is able to utilize advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. This APP will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention. This position requires a high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. In addition to the responsibilities of this APP as defined in the description, this provider is responsible for providing and supporting behavioral health services to individual patients and families across the continuum of care.
