Perform specialized ophthalmic diagnostic imaging and testing while managing patient recruitment and informed consent for research studies. Provide clinical and administrative support to eye care providers to ensure efficient patient flow and data accuracy.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and BLS certification, with specific ophthalmic certifications (OSC or COA) required within a set timeframe. Preferred qualifications include experience with EPIC EMR, medical office experience in ophthalmology, and Spanish bilingualism.
Entry: A High School Diploma or GED. Required Licensure/Certification: Ophthalmic Scribe Certification (OSC) within 30 days of hire or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant certification. Completion of the Ophthalmic Assistant Home Study Course within 1 year of hire (tracked by unit) or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider.
Appropriate education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Must be able to work in-person. Must be able to travel to alternate locations as assigned. Must be able to engage in project specifics with OP clinic staff and providers. Must be able to engage with potential participants and patients providing a brief review of Oculomics project and enrolling them into the project. Must be able to play an active role doing rounds in waiting rooms and clinical rooms as needed. Must be able to report the number of interactions and enrollment on daily basis. Must be able to interact and communicate with back-end team via email, teams, or phone calls. Must be able to take over data entry and back-end responsibilities as needed.
