The PMHNP will provide evidence-based psychiatric care to patients across the lifespan (adjust to your target population: adults, adolescents, or both). This role includes psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, medication management (including controlled substances as permitted by Texas law), psychotherapy, crisis intervention, and care coordination with primary care providers and behavioral health teammates. The PMHNP will collaborate with a supervising physician as required by Texas scope-of-practice guidelines and clinic policy.
Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP) with PMHNP specialization.
PMHNP-BC or equivalent (e.g., ANCC Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner).
Current, unrestricted APRN license to practice in Texas with prescriptive authority. DEA registration for prescribing controlled substances.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team; strong documentation and electronic medical record (EMR) proficiency; culturally competent care; ability to work with diverse populations; bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of state and federal healthcare regulations, patient privacy, and safe prescribing practices.
