Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic exams and routine invasive procedures across all patient age groups. Collaborates effectively with radiologists and staff to provide high-quality patient services.
Requires graduation from a CAAHEP or ARRT approved sonography program and BCLS certification. Candidates must obtain ARDMS registration within six months of employment.
Operates ultrasound equipment to perform clinical diagnostic ultrasound exams and routine invasive procedures according to established standards and practices. Provides patient services utilizing ultrasound equipment. Demonstrates knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and pathology. Provides patient care to all age groups to include neonatal, pediatrics, adult, and geriatrics. Communicates effectively with staff and radiologists.
Education Graduate of an approved CAAHEP Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program or an approved Sonography Program by the ARRT. Required or Work Experience No experience required Required 1 year of experience Preferred Licenses and Certifications BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required and ARDMS - Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography Must become registered by the ARDMS within (6) months of employment. within 180 Days Required and Vascular Sonographers must become registered and/or RVT, RVS, RT(S), RT(VS) within (6) months of employment. within 180 Days Required and (BR) ARDMS or ARRT - Breast Sonography - Breast Licensure requirement for Breast Ultrasound can be met with registration through ARRT (BS) Required RVT - Registered Vascular Technologist Preferred RVS - Registered Vascular Sonographer Preferred Business
