Provide direct nursing care to residents in a skilled nursing facility, including administering medications and monitoring vital signs. Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement individualized care plans and maintain accurate medical documentation.
Must be a graduate of an accredited practical nursing program with a current LPN license. Requires the physical ability to lift at least 50 pounds and the capacity to handle the emotional stress of a long-term care environment.
Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, including state nursing practice acts, facility policies, and infection control protocols. Stay updated on best practices and professional standards in nursing. QualificationsQualifications and Skills Graduation from an accredited practical nursing program and current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) licensure. Knowledge of nursing principles, practices, and procedures. Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to identify resident condition changes. Proficiency in medication administration and knowledge of common medications and their effects. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team. Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation. Compassionate and empathetic demeanor. Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may involve lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare technology. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, per the facility's needs. Working Conditions Works in office area(s), warehouse, pharmacy, and some positions work in a long-term care environment (i.e. nursing home, drug rooms, nurses’ stations resident rooms, etc.). Moves intermittently during working hours. Is subject to frequent interruptions. Is involved with customers, and customer representatives, family members, residents, personnel, visitors, government agencies/personnel, etc., under all conditions and circumstances. Is subject to hostile and emotionally upset residents, family members, personnel, and visitors. Communicate with the designated facility staff, nursing personnel, residents, or family members. Works beyond normal working hours and on weekends and holidays when necessary. Is subject to call back during emergency conditions (e.g., severe weather, evacuation, post-disaster, etc.). Is involved in community/civic health matters/projects as appropriate. Attends and participates in continuing educational programs. Is subject to injury from falls, burns from equipment, odors, etc., throughout the workday, as well as reactions from dust, disinfectants, tobacco smoke, and other air contaminants. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc., including TB and the AIDS, COVID-19, and Hepatitis B viruses.
