Performs comprehensive sleep testing, analysis, and associated interventions for patients. Provides supervision and guidance to Polysomnographic Trainees and Technologist I staff.
Requires a high school diploma and credentialing in sleep technology or completion of an accredited polysomnography program. BLS certification from the American Heart Association is mandatory.
The Polysomnographic Technologist II works collectively with the Medical Director, Leader, staff and patients to achieve optimal efficiency and success in sleep disorder function testing and scoring. Performs comprehensive sleep testing / analysis and associated interventions under the general supervision of the Leader, Medical Director, or designee and provides supervision of a Polysomnographic Trainee and Polysomnographic Technologist I. A Polysomnographic Technologist II is credentialed in sleep technology.
Education: An associate’s degree in an allied healthcare field (respiratory care or neuro-diagnostics). Second credential may include ONE of the following: BRPT (Certification in Clinical Sleep Health) CCSH NBRC (Registered Respiratory Therapist RRT (American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists) ABRET (Registered Encephalography Technologist) R.
