Administer comprehensive nursing care to a diverse patient population from newborn to geriatric using a multidisciplinary approach. Implement care plans based on patient assessments and physician orders in accordance with hospital policies.
Requires a nursing degree, current Texas RN license, and certifications in BCLS, ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and NIHSS. Preferred candidates have experience in emergency or acute care nursing and CEN or TNCC certifications.
Administers care to a patient population ranging from newborn to geriatric and utilizes a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to ensure that each patient receives nursing care appropriate to his/her illness or injury. Prioritizes patient care need based on the patient assessment and uses the nursing process to implement a plan of care appropriate to each patient’s needs. Delivers care consistent with physician’s orders and treatment protocols and in accordance with hospital and departmental policy.
High school diploma or equivalent Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing Current Texas RN license Basic Cardiac Life Support required within 14 days of hire and before providing direct patient care Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required before end of orientation Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required before end of orientation NIHSS (National Institute of Health Stroke Scale) certification required before end of orientation
One year of emergency nursing experience Two years of acute care nursing experience CEN Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC)
