The staff RN provides professional care to a group of patients using the nursing process and therapeutic modalities. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to formulate and document overall patient care plans.
Candidates must hold a current California RN license along with CPR and ACLS certifications. Two years of ICU experience and NIHSS certification are preferred or required within 90 days of hire.
Overview The staff RN is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the therapeutic environments, treatment and modalities and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Applies appropriate theory as a basis for decisions regarding nursing practice. The RN shall, for their patient, collaborate in the formulation of the overall plan of care for the patient, as evidenced by written documentation. Identifies problems specific to biophysical, cognitive, developmental, emotional, socio-cultural, and spiritual needs.
Current California RN License. Current CPR and ACLS certifications required. Completion of Critical Care and Basic Dysrhythmia course if less than 2 years experience. 2 Years ICU experience preferred. Current NIHSS certification, or within 90 days of employment.
