The Medical Assistant supports the Endocrinology Department by managing diabetes patients and their associated medical devices. Responsibilities include patient communication, scheduling, administrative data management, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) along with BLS CPR certification. Experience in endocrinology or diabetes care and proficiency with OncoEMR are highly preferred.
SCOPE: The Medical Assistant to join our Endocrinology Department specializes in supporting diabetes patients and their diabetes devices. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks aimed at ensuring efficient patient care and effective management of diabetes-related devices. This role requires strong communication skills, technical proficiency with medical devices, and a commitment to maintaining patient privacy and compliance with healthcare regulations FUNCTIONS: 1. Patient Communication and Scheduling 2. Administrative and Data Management 3. Pre-Authorizations and Documentation 4. Privacy and Compliance 5. Technical Support and Device Management QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent required; Completion of a certified medical assistant program highly preferred. Previous experience in a medical assistant role, preferably in an endocrinology or diabetes care setting. Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems, particularly OncoEMR.
