The Ophthalmic Assistant performs diagnostic measurements and tests to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. Responsibilities include documenting patient data, scribing during exams, and managing patient flow within the clinic.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, with a bachelor's degree preferred and 0-2+ years of experience depending on the level. A Medical Assistant Registered (MA-R) certification from the State of Washington must be obtained within 60 days of hire.
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED). Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline preferred.
An office environment with a controlled atmosphere. Possible exposure to staff or patients with communicable diseases and blood borne pathogens.
Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception), normal range of hearing, ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (gloves, face mask, eye shield, gown), standing for long periods of time.
