Ophthalmic Tech (Ophthalmology, Winter Garden)

• Nemours is seeking an Ophthalmic Tech. (Full-Time), to join our team in Winter Garden, Florida.
• The COT provides individualized, age appropriate, culturally competent, goal directed and family centered care in the Ophthalmological clinic.
• The COT completes thorough medical histories and performs ophthalmological testing and ancillary procedures within their scope of practice.
• Position requires a great deal of initiative and flexibility to cope with stress and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Given the level of training and experience required in their position, the employee with be expected to work well independently.
• Employee must be extremely discreet to maintain patient confidentiality.
• Accurately collects health care data and documents appropriate information in patient record according to policy and training resources.
• Independently performs and accurately documents standard ophthalmological testing/procedures within COT scope of practice.
• Is responsible for professional practice and development of self and others according to scope of practice.
• Complies with and promotes Nemours Standards of Behavior.
• Provides safe and effective patient/family care.
• Maintains a safe environment for patients, families, visitors and employees.
• Performs clerical duties as assigned.
• Participates in ensuring the overall financial well-being of the Division of Ophthalmology and the Nemours Foundation.
• Job Requirements High School Diploma required.
• Specialized (1 year of training beyond high school).
• Minimum of six (5) months to one (1) year of experience required.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant or Certified Ophthalmic Technician preferred.
• Travel will be required to satellite locations.
