• Position Overview Medication Technicians assist in ensuring the health and well-being of residents by providing personal care and supporting the safe self-administration of medications (excluding injectable medications).
• This role works closely with licensed nursing staff to deliver high-quality care in accordance with each resident’s plan of care, Elderwood standards, and all applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

Medication Technician Medication Support Assist with safe, proper administration of medications and treatments as ordered, following the Five Rights of Medication Administration Ensure proper storage, labeling, and handling of medications, including controlled substances Monitor residents for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to licensed nursing staff Maintain accurate and timely documentation (e.g., change in condition, transfers, STOP & WATCH, electronic systems) Resident Care & Support Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, and mobility (per training and supervision guidelines) Respond promptly and respectfully to resident requests Support resident dignity, comfort, and personal preferences at all times Collaboration & Communication Participate in change-of-shift reports and care coordination Communicate effectively with nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members Assist with dining services as needed Safety, Compliance & Professional Standards Follow all Elderwood policies, procedures, and safety standards Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required Maintain confidentiality and uphold HIPAA compliance Participate in required training, meetings, and in-service education From Up to
