Performs waived and moderately complex laboratory tests to assist in disease diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities include specimen preparation, equipment maintenance, and monitoring temperature charts.
Requires a certified phlebotomist with two years of experience, an associate degree in a health science field, or a third-year Medical Laboratory Science student. A high school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
Performs waived testing or assists in the performance of moderately complex laboratory tests under supervision to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Responsibilities include specimen preparation for testing, centrifuge maintenance & electrical checks, temperature charts, pipette maintenance & calibration, and locating specimens on pending lists. Follows all hospital and laboratory policies, guidelines, procedures and protocols pertaining to job duties and meets expectations for performance standards.
HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
