The RN identifies and implements nursing interventions for diverse patient populations across various hospital units. Responsibilities include evaluating intervention results and potentially assuming leadership roles within the float pool.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing school with current licensure in the State of Minnesota. Knowledge of treatment for patients across all age groups, from neonates to geriatrics, is required.
The RN in the Float Pool is the basic level of professional nursing practice. She/he identifies and implements nursing interventions that have less predictable outcomes and evaluates the results of these interventions for a given patient population. A nurse at this level may be required to assume leadership responsibility.
