The Medical Assistant provides clinical and clerical support for pediatric patients in an outpatient setting, including rooming patients and taking vital signs. Key duties include phlebotomy, assisting with cast application and removal, and maintaining electronic medical records.
A High School Diploma or GED and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are required. Preference is given to Certified Medical Assistants with two years of experience in both general medical assisting and pediatric care.
The Medical Assistant assists in rooming patients, taking vital signs, measurements, preparation of exam rooms, stocking supplies, assisting the physician, interacting with other departments and documentation in the electronic medical record. The Medical Assistant works with and under the direction of the RN. Assists providers, nursing and other health care professionals with procedures and the intake and depart processes. Accurately documents information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Responsible for prepping clinic to be prepared for that day's clinic to include monitoring supplies and equipment and ordering supplies Utilizes good clinical judgement to identify problems and interventions with patients and families and referral to RN as needed This is not an all-inclusive list of this job’s responsibilities.
