BEACON BEHAVIORAL SUPPORT SERVICES

Performs administrative and clinical duties to support physicians and nurses in a behavioral health setting. Responsibilities include taking vitals, managing patient charts, and coordinating total patient care within a multidisciplinary team.
Requires graduation from an accredited medical assistant school and at least one year of experience, preferably in behavioral health. Must hold certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and non-violent crisis intervention (CPI).
1. Graduate of an accredited school of medical assistants.
2. Minimum of 1 year experience as a Medical Assistant, experience in behavioral health care preferred.
3. Certification in Basic Life Support required.
4. Certification in non-violent crisis intervention.

1. Performs administrative and clinical duties under the direction of the Physicians. Assists with other duties as assigned.
2. Provides quality care to patients and assists the Physician and Nurse in the clinical setting.
1. Participates in the planning, coordinating and documenting total patient care in conjunction with the multidisciplinary treatment team and under the direction of the physicians.
4. Prepares charts for patient visits with proper paperwork. Takes vitals, gathers admission information, and inputs data into the electronic medical records.
5. Schedules follow up appointments and assists with discharge planning. Faxes outgoing referrals and medical records requests, etc.
6. Accurately reports and records the patient’s condition and care, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change.
7. Assists the patient with activities of daily living while teaching appropriate self-care techniques.
8. Assists in answering the phones, and scheduling Intake appointments.
9. Completes, maintains, and submits accurate and relevant clinical notes.
10. Displays flexibility and willingness to help others, identifies and offers solutions to
problems, vision, foresight, and customer sensitivity.
11. Performs job with efficiency necessary to complete assignments within established time
restraints and procedural guidelines.
12. Organizes and prioritizes work while being cost-effective and conserving resources.
13. Able to tolerate high-stress and high volume work.
14. Deals constructively with stress, uses appropriate customer etiquette in dealing with
patients, families, and inquiries.
15. Offers and accepts constructive feedback and responds appropriately to direction.
