Registered Nurse-GI FT days w/ On Call required ($4.00)
Essential
Duties: and Responsibilities:
1.
Plans, provides, supervises and documents professional nursing care utilizing the nursing process for patients in accordance with physician orders and established policies and procedures.
2.
Communicates and collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team to develop a plan of care to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.
3.
Charts observations and activities related to patient care in electronic health record.
4.
Provides safe, effective, and compassionate nursing care for a patient population using critical thinking skills, advocacy abilities and ethical approaches.
5.
Guides and directs assigned unlicensed assistive personnel in delivering interdisciplinary patient care.
6.
Assesses signs and symptoms indicating physiologic and psychosocial changes in the patient’s condition and reports changes to the physician.
7.
Performs interventions according to identified priorities, plan of care, infection control and the hospital policies and patient care outcome standards.
8.
Actively participates in Quality Assurance/Process Improvement initiatives to improve patient safety and outcomes, such as monitoring compliance of core measures, infection control practices, etc.
9.
Educates patient/family prior to discharge regarding the diagnosis, medication and discharge instructions.
10.
Collects blood specimens by venipuncture or microtechniques for laboratory analysis necessary for patient treatment and diagnosis.

Keep the patient informed throughout the duration of the procedure.

Complete all necessary documentation including patient notes and discharge documents.
8.
Prepare the instruments, equipment and supplies for the procedure/ Room set-up.
9.
Clean and sterilize equipment before use.
10.
Providing assistance to doctors throughout the procedure.
11.
Administering IV drips.
12.
Familiar with endoscopic equipment.
13.
Cross train to SDS or PACU.
