The Surgical Technician provides direct patient care during surgical interventions by preparing the sterile field and providing necessary equipment and instruments to the surgical team. They are responsible for maintaining an aseptic environment, counting surgical materials, and assisting with room turnover.
A high school diploma is required, while graduation from an accredited surgical technologist program is preferred. Candidates must hold a Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification accredited by the American Heart Association.
