Nursing Assistant Perioperative - Inpatient PACU

100% FTE. This is a Day/Evening position with (4) four, 10-hour shifts, start times vary between 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Rotating weekends required. Hours may vary based on operational needs of department. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI.

We are seeking a Nursing Assistant (CNA, NA) to

• Cross train as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC). Coordinate with Nursing Supervisors, assist with patient placement needs of ICU, IMC, general care, or outpatient placement. Communicate with units and ancillary staff.
• Settle surgical/post-anesthesia patients, obtain vitals, reposition patients, set up suction, assist with airway, empty drains, empty foleys - per RN request, assist with normoglycemia protocol.
• Assist with activities of daily living, patient transport, intentional rounding, stocking, and ordering equipment.
• Interact and engage with visitors, patients, and their family members to establish a trusting relationship to provide high quality care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of State of Wisconsin approved Nurse Aid Training Program Required

Work Experience

• 1 year of recent experience as a Nursing Assistant Preferred

Licenses & Certifications
