Position Summary

The Physical Medicine Tech reports to the Physical Medicine Manager and, under the supervision of a licensed rehabilitation professional, supports patient care and department operations within Physical Medicine. This role assists with therapeutic activities as directed, prepares treatment areas and equipment, supports patient flow, and helps maintain a safe, organized, and patient-centered environment while working collaboratively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team. Essential Position Responsibilities Maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, physicians, therapists, nursing staff, and other internal and external customers to support coordinated, high-quality care. Assist licensed rehabilitation staff with patient care activities and therapeutic interventions as directed and within established scope of practice. Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain treatment areas, equipment, and supplies to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient care environment. Support patient flow by assisting with transport, set-up, positioning, and related therapy support activities while following safety protocols. Observe and promptly communicate patient responses, status changes, equipment issues, or safety concerns to the appropriate licensed team member. Complete required documentation and perform other job-related duties as assigned in accordance with department, regulatory, and organizational standards. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED, required Licensure and Certifications: CPR, required.

Experience

• Previous experience in an acute care setting or therapy tech, preferred.

• Environment: This position will spend 70% of time standing and/or walking while pushing, pulling, lifting and/or carrying up to 50 lbs. This position will spend 30% of time sitting while performing work in a standard office environment. This position will serve a culturally and linguistically diverse patient population.
