Requires a Bachelor's or Doctor of Pharmacy degree and a valid Alabama pharmacy license. A postgraduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience and AHA BLS certification are strongly preferred.
Overview Monitors drug therapy to improve patient outcome and quality of care, recommends rational and cost-effective pharmacotherapeutic alternatives and provides accurate and efficient medication distribution. Implements and evaluates nutritional support and pharmacokinetic regimens. Supervises pharmacy technical staff.
Education: Bachelor degree in pharmacy or doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited university with license to practice pharmacy in Alabama required; completion of post graduate pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience strongly preferred. Proof of current AHA BLS must be provided or obtained by the end of the orientation period.
