The Physician Hospice is responsible for managing the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients through individualized care plans and symptom management. They lead interdisciplinary teams and coordinate with families and other healthcare providers to ensure dignity and comfort during the final stages of life.
Candidates must hold an MD or DO degree, a current state medical license, and CPR certification. Board certification in hospice and palliative medicine is preferred.
Responsible for ensuring the highest quality of life for patients during their final stages, focusing on comfort, dignity, and emotional support. It works closely with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, chaplains and hospice Aides, to develop and implement individualized care plans that address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
