Provides safe basic care to patients, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with daily living activities. Responsible for specimen collection, patient observation, and maintaining accurate patient charts to ensure continuity of care.
Requires a CNA certification and BLS certification from the American Heart Association. A high school diploma and 6 months of clinical healthcare experience are preferred.
The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs.
Required qualifications: CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS
