Responsibilities

• Perform triage and initial assessment of emergency department patients; monitor vital signs and report changes
• Administer medications and therapies per physician orders; respond to acute changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams to implement patient care plans
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist with ambulatory or minor surgical procedures; monitor post-procedure recovery
• Document care in the electronic health record, maintain patient safety, privacy, and comfort
• Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and appropriate referrals as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license from any state (AZ licensure not required)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and PALS; NRP required within 12 months of hire
• Additional certifications: TNCC and ENPC required within 12 months of hire
• NIHSS (NIH Stroke Scale) completed within 6 months of hire
• ESI Level 5 certification required within 3 months of hire; patient sitter competency training upon hire
• Ability to work in a fast-paced ED/surgical-setting environment and follow physician orders and hospital policies
