Staff Registered Nurse Dialysis- Acute/Inpatient

• The Dialysis Nurse is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care and outcome for the chronic and/or acute dialysis patient.
• Coordinates, delegates, and provides direct nursing care for patients by working cooperatively with patients, family members, and all patient care team members.
• Checks and records patients’ vitals before, during, and after dialysis treatment.
• Operates dialysis machines efficiently in accordance with policy and procedure guidelines.
• Ensures that hemodialysis treatments are administered to patients correctly.
• Monitors patients during dialysis treatment to identify any adverse reactions.
• Prepares and updates nursing care plans.
• Promptly notifies the appropriate medical practitioner of any problems that occur during dialysis treatments.

After a minimum of 3 months post training, will assume a role in the after hours on call rotation. Will be expected to sit for national certification within 18 months of employment.
