The Patient Care Aide provides direct patient care and maintains care standards under the direction of an RN or LPN. Responsibilities include managing multiple priorities and adapting to a rapidly changing healthcare environment.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED. Additionally, they need at least 6 months of experience as a patient care aide or completion of the first quarter/semester of nursing clinicals.
Overview The Patient Care Aide (PCA) works under the direction of the RN/LPN. The responsibilities of the Patient Care Aide include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. The Patient Care Aide must exhibit the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set priorities and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required: Education: HS/GED required.
