The CMA provides clinical and administrative support by taking patient histories, measuring vital signs, and assisting providers during medical procedures. They are also responsible for managing needle safety, maintaining confidential patient records, and optimizing clinic efficiency.
Candidates must hold a current Medical Assistant certification (CMA) from an accredited organization like the AAMA. Required expertise includes needle safety, client needs assessment, and proficiency with electronic health record systems.
