Responsible for the safe and accurate distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients and the general public. This includes interpreting prescriptions, counseling patients, and supervising technical personnel while adhering to legal and hospital standards.
Requires graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy and a valid pharmacist license from the Virginia Department of Health Professions. One year of healthcare pharmaceutical experience and outpatient pharmacy experience are preferred.
Position Title: Pharmacist (Outpatient)
Purpose & Scope: Responsible for safe, accurate, and rational distribution of pharmaceutical agents to patients of all ages, employees, and general public as well as supervision of technical personnel. Accurately interprets and evaluates prescriptions and drug therapy, counsels patients, and dispenses medications. Coordinates work flow with other team members to ensure a productive and efficient environment. This shall be carried out with all state and Federal laws, JCHAO standards, hospital / department policies and procedures.
Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy is required.
