The OR Tech provides critical technical support to surgeons during surgical and diagnostic procedures. They operate autonomously to scrub in and assist the surgical team under the direction of a registered nurse.
Candidates must be graduates of an Operating Room Technician program and hold certification as a Surgical Technician and BCLS. At least one year of experience as an OR Technician or demonstrated scrub experience is required.
The OR Certified Surgical Technologist is a critical member of the Operating Room Team who performs a variety of technical skills in support of the surgeon during cases. The Surgical technologist is an autonomous skilled individual who is competent in a variety of specialties and scrubs in surgical/diagnostic procedure(s) under the direction of a registered professional nurse.
Qualifications: Graduate of Operating Room
Technician Program or its equivalent.
Certification as Surgical Technician .
1. Experience/Skills
One (1) year experience as Operating Room Technician or demonstrated ability to perform operative case scrub experience.
Must demonstrate understanding of sterility and a knowledge of medical terminology. .
