The Anesthesia Support Specialist assists the anesthetist by maintaining and monitoring anesthesia equipment, managing supplies, and preparing the surgery room. They also follow established procedures and standards set by the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN).
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with at least 6 months of work experience. Preferred qualifications include CPR/BLS certification and experience in an operating room or procedural area.
**1.75 2nd shift differential*
The Anesthesia Support Specialist assists the anesthetist by performing various tasks, including the maintenance and monitoring of anesthesia equipment and machines, supply management, department cleaning, and preparation of the surgery room with equipment and supplies according to established procedures. Follows and understand the standards and recommended practices according to the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN). The Anesthesia Support Specialist assists in cleaning and preparing the surgery room and procedural room in addition to managing the care of the anesthesia equipment.
Licensure/Certifications: American Heart Association CPR/basic life support (BLS) Experience: 6 months operating room/surgery/procedural area Knowledge of medical terminology or coding rules Other requirements/information: Computer and phone experience OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
