  • CENTER: The surgical/neuro science intensive care unit (SNICU) is a 28 bed unit that provides post-operative care to BMC’s most complex patients. Patient types include trauma, neurology, cardiac surgical, vascular surgery and general surgery.

Position Summary

As a Patient Care Technician in our Critical Care department, you will be a key member of the healthcare team at BMC. Under the direction and supervision of the registered nurse (RN) and in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of practice, our Patient Care Technicians provide direct clinical and support services. Using our patient-centered care model and uplifted by a supportive nursing organization, you will participate in the delivery of care to our patients and their families. You will also work cooperatively with all healthcare team members to provide a variety of support services to meet patient, family, and staff needs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform a variety of appropriately delegated patient care interventions for patients in the Critical Care department and their families. Clinical services could include, but are not limited to: obtaining vital signs, bathing and feeding, dressing wounds, assisting with hygiene, cleaning rooms and linens, and emotional support. Perform a variety of environmental and inventory activities to ensure a safe, clean, and appropriately equipped environment for patients, visitors, and staff in the Critical Care dept. Contribute to the efficient operation of the Critical Care dept, ensuring quality patient/family clinical outcomes.
