Provide specialized nursing care for patients with acute burn injuries, complex wounds, and those recovering from major head and neck cancer surgeries. Manage surgical airways and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team in a 10-bed variable acuity ICU.
Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing school with at least an Associate's Degree and a current Ohio RN License. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is preferred, and new graduates are accepted.
Burn/ENT Special Care Unit (BESCU)- 5 South
The Burn/ENT Special Care Unit (BESCU) provides specialized care for a diverse group of
older adolescent and adult patients. The service manages individuals with acute burn injuries,
complex wounds, and various skin conditions requiring advanced treatment and reconstruction.
In addition, BESCU delivers expert care for Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) patients undergoing
major head and neck cancer surgery and reconstructive procedures, including free flap
reconstruction. The unit also supports patients with newly created surgical airways such as
tracheostomies, laryngectomies, and stents, as well as those receiving treatment for airway
stenosis and other complex ENT reconstruction surgeries.
The inpatient ICU is a 10-bed unit with variable acuity.
