Facilitate outreach for individuals in Opioid Treatment Programs and Outpatient Clinics to boost engagement and commitment to recovery. Connect patients to community-based recovery supports aligned with their treatment and discharge plans.
Requires a High School Diploma or GED and NYS Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) certification. Candidates must possess knowledge of the substance use disorder recovery process and be culturally and trauma-sensitive.
The primary function of the Certified Recovery Peer Advocate is facilitating outreach with individuals currently in our Opioid Treatment Program and Outpatient Clinics under the supervision of a qualified healthcare professional. Utilizing their recovery expertise, professional training, and lived experience, peers boost individuals’ engagement in treatment and commitment to recovery. CRPAs also connect patients to community-based recovery supports consistent with treatment, recovery, and discharge plans.
