A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preference for three years of healthcare experience. Certification as a CMA or CNA is preferred.
Illinois CancerCare is seeking a full-time Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our clinical team. The MOA is responsible for assisting providers with clinical duties related to patient care and works directly with RNs, APNs, and physicians in both exam and treatment room settings. High school diploma or GED required Three years of experience in a healthcare organization preferred Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA) preferred SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time. Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 25 pounds. Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours. Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or bodily fluids. Requires frequent bending, reaching, squatting, stooping. SAFETY CONSIDERATIONS/TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS The employee has limited exposure to toxic substances and is expected to be familiar with the dangers and proper handling of such. The employee is exposed to communicable diseases and other conditions common to the clinical environment. Safety policies and good health practices are to be understood and observed. Work is performed in an office environment with frequent contact with staff and patients. Work may be repetitious, and in a high-stress environment. Contact may involve dealing with angry and/or upset people.
