Radiologist - Full-time, VA contract - Any state license

Description Georgia Medical Staffing is in need of a full-time, radiologist, interested in a 1 year minimum contract working for the VA in Columbia, SC.

Details

• Start - as soon as credentialed
• Hours: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday-Friday.
• On-call 4:30 pm to 8:00 am weekdays.
• Weekend call: 4:30 pm
• Friday to 8:00 am Monday.

Scope

• General and interventional
• Radiology procedures, including, but not limited: Diagnostic Radiology Ultrasound Computed Tomography (CT) Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Nuclear Medicine (Nuc Med) Interventional Radiography (IR) Provide consultation with and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for general, ultrasound, CT, MRI, nuc med, and IR radiologic procedures so that the most expeditious and clinically appropriate work-up can be done. Determine the appropriate course of treatment and communicate in person or by phone with the referring clinicians. Provide review of consults/orders and next- day patient cases for minimum of two hours daily. Provide post-procedure evaluation and follow-up and clinical consultation regarding complications of interventional radiologic procedures.

Medications

• Follow all established medication policies and procedures. No sample medications shall be provided to patients.
• Discharge education: Provide discharge education and follow up instructions that are coordinated with the next care setting for all emergency department patients.
• ADMINISTRATIVE: estimated 5% of time not involved in direct patient care

• Improvement
• Meetings: Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and meetings with committee participation as required by the facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee.
• Staff
• Meetings: Attend staff meetings as required by the facility Chief of Service, Chief of Staff, or designee. Contractor to communicate with COR on this requirement and report any conflicts that may interfere with compliance with this requirement.
