The Laboratory Phlebotomist is responsible for ensuring lab work has proper orders, drawing blood according to policy, and processing requisitions for both in-house and external lab work. Duties also include managing patient scheduling for missed bloodwork appointments and maintaining the cleanliness and stock of the drawing room.
Candidates must possess knowledge of phlebotomy services, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining attention to detail. A high school education or equivalent is required, along with the ability to handle complex situations and maintain professionalism with patients and staff.
Adequate to perform job duties in person and over the telephone.
Must be able to communicate clearly to patients in person and over the telephone.
Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties, including reading information from printed sources and computer screens.
