The PreOp/PACU Nurse is responsible for conducting thorough patient assessments, preparing patients for surgery, and providing education regarding the surgical process. Additionally, the nurse monitors patients recovering from anesthesia, manages pain, and ensures stable vital signs before discharge.
Candidates must have at least one year of progressive experience as a Registered Nurse in PreOp, PACU, or critical care settings. A current Virginia RN license and BCLS certification are required, with ACLS and PALS certifications needed based on location requirements.

We are seeking a PRN PreOP/PACU Nurse to join our team.
The Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. The PreOp RN is responsible for conducting thorough patient assessments, preparing patients for surgery, and providing education by addressing patient concerns and questions and promote understanding of the surgical process. The PreOp RN collaborates with the surgical team to ensure all necessary protocols are followed and that patients are medically ready for their procedures.
The PACU RN monitors patients as they recover from anesthesia, ensuring their vital signs stabilize and addressing any immediate postoperative needs. The PACU RN assesses pain levels, manages postoperative complications, and provides patient and family education regarding recovery and discharge instructions.
